CHAPLET TO THE SOULS OF THE PURGATORY 1

Before starting with the prayer, we advise you to meditate on this text dictated in Spanish by Jesus regarding the subject of the blessed souls of Purgatory. Then you can come back to this page to pray or copy the prayer. (Link)

The prayer for the Blessed souls of Purgatory is the most marvelous act of love that a soul can give. To pray for them is a demonstration of faith in the Kingdom promised by Jesus; it is proof of love for those that need it the most since they cannot do anything on their own to shorten their sorrows, and it is a gesture of union in the Communion of the Saints, of the peregrine Church on earth, with the purging church that is on its way to the Glorified Church, of the saints who are in Heaven.

We present this chaplet to the Souls of Purgatory, brief and simple to pray, so we join each day to Jesus’ request which He made to three holy souls: Saint Gertrude the Great, Saint Faustina Kowalska, and Sister Maria ConsolataBetrone. To these three spouses Jesus asked for a special devotion for the purgative souls, showed them the sufferings of the souls in the place of purification, showed them the mystery of Purgatory, and also gave them prayers to say for the souls.

This Chaplet is the result of combining the revelations that Jesus made to these three holy souls:

Use a standard rosary.

Introduction
O Blood and Water, that gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in you. (3x)

Our Father, Hail Mary, and Creed.

On the large beads: Exclamation
Eternal Father, I offer you the Most Precious Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in union with all the Masses celebrated today in the whole world, for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and for the sins and sinners of the entire world.

Small beads: Jesus, Mary, I love you, save the souls. (10x)

At the end of the Rosary, the last three beads before the Crucifix are prayed:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Eternal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Prayers for the Dead (dictated to Maria Valtorta)

Written on October 24, 1944.

…I write everything that Jesus dictates:
“The month dedicated to the dead is coming. Pray for them in this way:

O Jesus! that with your glorious Resurrection you have shown us how the “children of God” will be eternally, grant the holy resurrection to our loved ones, who died in your Grace, and to us, in our hour. For the sacrifice of your Blood, for Mary’s tears, for the merits of all the Saints, open your Kingdom to their spirits.

O Mother! Whose affliction ended with the paschal morn before the Resurrected and in which your wait to unite yourself with your Son ceased in the joy of your glorious Assumption, console our pain freeing the sorrows of those whom we love even after death, and pray for us who wait for the hour to find the embrace of those we lost.

Martyrs and Saints that are so joyous in Heaven, direct your eyes with a pleading look to God and a fraternal look to the dead who expiate, to beg to the Eternal for them and to tell them: “Here it is that peace opens for you”.

Beloved, so loved, not lost but separated, that your prayers be for us the kiss we yearn, and when through our suffrage you will be free in the blessed Paradise with the Saints, protect us by loving us in the Perfection, united to us by the invisible, active, loving Communion of the Saints, in anticipation of the perfect reunion of the “blessed” which will be granted to us, and in addition of us enjoying the vision of God, to meet you as we had you, but sublimed by the glory of Heaven.”
